The mission of the Green Hills Public Library District is to encourage life long learning and enrichment through the exploration of print materials and other media and to provide service and materials which will contribute to a well informed and literate community.

The Orland Park Public Library serves the residents of the Village of Orland Park. Our library serves a population of over 57,000 people and we circulate over 625,000 items per year. The library moved into its new award-winning 93,000 square foot building in September 2004. We currently have a collection of over 180,000 items.

The Andalusia Library was established in May 1973. Construction was handled by volunteer labor. On opening day, the people of Andalusia Township had a special reason for celebrating the Bicentennial year. They had a new library, free of debt, which offered many new services.

The Arcola Public Library is a district library, established in 1905.

We have one of the largest collections in the state with a total of over 430,000 items and more than 1,600 newspaper and magazine subscriptions. In addition to books and magazines, there are DVDs, CDs, audiobooks, videos, toys, games, puzzles, puppets, CD-ROMs and large type books.

The Astoria Public Library District is located in Astoria, Illinois - Fulton County.

The Athens Library was founded in 1974 by a group of local residents who had lots of ideas and energy, and few boxes of donated publications. Today the ideas and energy remain but the collection has grown. In addition the library has become a center for a variety of classes, workshops and a summer reading program. From the beginning, the library has been maintained with the local community in mind. As a result, there are special items on Athens, genealogy, Abraham Lincoln and local as well as Illinois history.
