The Watseka Public Library serves as an informational, recreational and educational center for persons of all ages in the community.

The purpose of the Wauconda Area Library is to provide and promote a variety of library resources and services in response to the informational, educational, cultural, and recreational needs of both the residential and business communities.

The Waukegan Public Library has an extraordinary number of resources available for its patrons. The current collection contains over 200,000 books, but also has more than 11,000 CD’s! The DVD and video collection is one of the best in all of Lake County, with a wide assortment from the latest releases to classic movies and foreign films in our Audio Visual Department located in the upper level of the library.

Our library contains 40,000 titles, and with access to the Automated Catalog through the Shawnee Library System, our patrons have access to over a million items. Our collections consists of books, magazines, audiobooks, music, newspapers, and pamphlets. Also available for use are: microfilm reader/printer for back issues of The Daily American newspaper, copy machine, and fax machine. The library has 14 public access computers with word processing and internet capabilities.

The Westchester Public Library promotes lifelong learning and enrichment through access to information, services and a knowledgeable staff in an open environment. We bring people together to stimulate the free exchange of ideas and a sense of community.
